My Journey to Veterinary Medicine

My name is Michaela Ležovičová, and veterinary medicine has been a passion of mine since childhood. From a very young age, I was taught to love animals, and I knew very early on that my professional path would lead me to them.

For me, being a veterinarian is not just a profession, but above all a calling. I strive to treat every animal with respect, patience, and the highest level of professional care.

Education and Professional Achievements

I graduated from the Secondary Vocational School of Veterinary Medicine in Nitra and subsequently continued my studies at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Košice. I graduated with honors.

I was the only student in my class to receive the Rector’s Award for outstanding academic performance throughout all six years of study. I view this award not only as a significant achievement but also as a commitment to continually expand my knowledge and maintain high professional standards.

Professional Experience and Internships Abroad

After completing my studies, I undertook a three-month internship at the equine clinic in Petřvald, Czech Republic. There, I gained valuable practical experience and a solid foundation in equine internal medicine and orthopedics.

A significant milestone in my professional development was a four-month internship at the Pferdeklinik Pasterk in Ebreichsdorf, Austria.

At this specialized facility, I had the opportunity to work in a modern, well-equipped environment under the guidance of experienced specialists. The emphasis was on precise diagnostics, collaboration between different disciplines, and an individualized approach to each patient.

I actively participated in the diagnosis and treatment of both orthopedic and internal medicine conditions, assisted with more complex procedures, and honed my skills in diagnostic imaging methods and the clinical examination of sport horses.

My Philosophy of Care

I have always felt a special connection to horses, and working with them is my great passion. In my practice, I combine professional knowledge with a responsible and sensitive approach to provide every patient with high-quality, comprehensive veterinary care.

I am constantly educating myself and keeping up with new developments in the field of veterinary medicine, particularly equine medicine. My goal is to incorporate modern diagnostic and treatment methods into my daily practice.
